PS5 controller not charging in Rest Mode

Are you having issues with your PS5 controller not charging while in rest mode. well... you are in the right place. Here we will talk about why your controller is not charging in rest mode and how you can resolve this issue.

There are a few possible reasons why your PS5 controller is not charging in Rest mode. These include:

1. The controller may not be properly connected to the charging cable.

There are a few reasons why a controller may not be properly connect to the charging cable on a PS5. The most common reason is that the charging cable may not be properly seated in the controller or the PS5. Check to ensure that the cable is properly connected in both ends.

Another reason could be that the charging cable itself is faulty. Try using a different charging cable to see if that solves the problem. If the controller still does not charge properly, there may be an issue with the controller itself. In that case, you may need to try a different controller to see if it will charge.

Other possible reasons include a problem with the controller itself, such as a hardware fault. Additionally, the PS5's charging port may be damaged or not functioning properly. Try inserting a working pen drive or an external storage device to see if it gets recognized.

2. The controller's battery may be too low.

If the battery is completely drained, it may take a few minutes for the controller to start charging. It is normal for a PS5 controller to take longer to start charging when the battery is too low, as the battery will need more time to start charging normally.

The exact amount of time it takes to charge a PS5 controller will vary depending on a number of factors, including the age and condition of the controller's battery. You may want to leave it for while as the battery regains voltage and start charging normally. You can see How fast can I charge my DualSense on more about charging your PS5 controller.

3. PS5 Rest mode Settings Don't allow to charge your controller

The PS5's rest mode settings may be preventing the controller from charging. To check this, go to the PS5's Settings menu and select "Power Save Settings," then "Set Features Available in Rest Mode." Make sure the "Supply Power to USB Ports" option is enabled.

When you do this the controller will be able to charge when the PS5 is put in rest mode.

4. Software Issue

Another common reason why your PS5 controller is not charging in rest mode could be because of your controllers software. The PS5 has a software in it that ensure the controller is running smoothly. If there are issues with the software, It may prevent the PS5 controller from charging.

You can fix this by updating your controller using the PS5 or a PC.
