This could be because of a number of reasons. We will talk about the most common causes of why multiMAN is not showing up games on the PS3 and how to fix them.
Here is a list of reasons why Games are not showing up in multiMAN
- Games are in a wrong folder
- PARAM.SFO missing or corrupted
- Missing Eboot.bin file
- Cobra mode is disabled
- Wrong file system (If you are using external storage)
Games are in a wrong folder
Games are not showing up in multiMAN because they are in a wrong folder or location. From what I know, this happens to many people.
When transferring games to the PS3 or external storage, games are not put in the proper folder. This will cause multiMAN not to show games. There are four main folders that multiMAN reads games from.
- dev_hdd0/GAMES/BL******
- dev_hdd0/PS3ISO/GAMENAME.ISO
- dev_usb001/GAMES/BL*******
- dev_usb001/PS3ISO/GAMENAME.ISO
BL******* being the game Title
Firstly, you need to go into the above directories to confirm your game(s) are correctly placed.
If you are using an external storage ensure that you create a folder named GAMES 'all uppercase' and copy your game(S) into that folder.
The game is supposed to be in this format below otherwise multiMAN won't read it.
External storage:\GAMES\BL*******\PS3_GAME
If your game is in ISO format you can put it in
External storage:\PS3ISO\GAMENAME.ISO
If you are using FTP to transfer your game(s) make sure your are putting your game(s) in the right folder of the PS3s internal storage.
The right location you are supposed to put your game(s) if you are using ftp is dev_hdd0\GAMES\ or dev_hdd0\PS3ISO if your game is in ISO format
Note: if you put the game in this format e.g. External storage:\GAMES\DEADLIEST WARRIOR\BLUS30911\PS3_GAME multiMAN will not read the game.

PARAM.SFO missing or corrupted
multiMAN gets information from PARAM.SFO file to display the game on the game list. If this file is not available or is corrupt, multiMAN will not show your game on the list.
The PARAM.SFO file is located just inside the PS3_GAME folder. it should be in this directory if you are using an external storage;
External storage:\GAMES\BL*******\PS3_GAME\PARAM.SFO
and in this folder if your game is in the internal storage
dev_hdd0\GAMES\BL******\PS3_GAME\PARAM.SFO
if the PARAM.SFO file is missing this is the reason why your game is not showing on the game list.
However, if the PARAM.SFO file is present you can open it to confirm it is not corrupt. you can open it by dragging it to the Notepad application on your pc or double tap X on multiMAN to open it if you are using your PS3 console.
Once you open the PARAM.SFO file it should have something like this
'PSF Ô P $ 3 B M $ Z
€ ( ` € ¨ i
This is a normal PARAM.SFO file, If yours looks like this and the game is still not showing then move on to the next stage.
Missing Eboot.bin file
Eboot.bin is a file that stores every data of the game, it runs the game the way it's supposed to be and boots the game.
When this Eboot.bin file is missing or corrupt, the game will not boot. It will freeze or even cause the PS3 to freeze and you will have to restart it.
To check if your game has an Eboot.bin file go to this directory below, most games have them in here;
BL*******\PS3_GAME\USDIR\EBOOT.BIN
If Eboot.bin is missing you have to find the correct EBoot.bin file for your specific game, re-dump your game or check whether you copied everything while you where transferring files.
Note: Eboot.bin is unique to every game
Cobra mode is Disabled
When cobra mode is disabled games will show in multiMAN as normal but will not show the disk when you mount it and multiMAN takes you back to XMB menu. There are two ways you can start the game if cobra mode is disabled with multiMAN.
Enable Direct boot
If the game is not showing as a disk on the XMB menu when you mount it from multiMAN, you can enable DIRECT BOOT in multiMAN on a game you want. To enable DIRECT BOOT follow the steps below,
- Launch multiMAN.
- Navigate to the games column.
- Press square on the game you want to launch.
- Now tick DIRECT BOOT on your left side.
This way you can directly boot the game from multiMAN without going back to XMB menu where it won't show when you mount it.
Use /app_home/PS3_GAME/
App_home/PS3_GAME/ is in the GAME column in the XMB menu just above Install Package Files. Now when you launch this without mounting anything it will give you an error, that is normal.
To start your game using /app_home/PS3_GAME/ you have to start multiMAN and mount your game of desire, this should take you back to XMB menu but you won't see the disk as cobra mode is disabled.
That is fine cause you will launch the game using /app_home/PS3_GAME/ only this time when you mounted your game through multiMAN it changed to PLAYSTATION 3. click on PLAYSTATION 3 to launch your game.
How to Enable Cobra
There are two simple ways you can enable cobra mode if you are on Rebug CFW;
Using XMB option
If you are using Rebug the simplest way to enable cobra mode is to go in the network column on the XMB menu.
Select custom software tools it's the first option in the Network column settings, you should see Rebug Tools now select that and choose Toggle Cobra mode. You have now successfully activated cobra mode
Using Rebug tool box
Rebug CFW comes with Rebug Tool box. if you are on Rebug CFW and can't see Rebug Tool box you can simply install it by going on the game column on the XMB menu and select Package Manager. Select install package files and then PS3 system storage.
You should can now see Rebug Toolbox as a PKG file to install. If you can't find it you can download it from here and install it on your PS3. Now that you you have it, you can open it and navigate to the settings column on the Rebug tool box and go on Cobra mode as like the picture below
Now Enable Cobra mode and hold 'O' to quit Rebug rebug tool box.
Note: This will restart the console.
Wrong file system
Games will not show in multiMAN if your external storage is formatted with a wrong file system. MultiMAN will only read FAT32 file system formatted external storage by default.
If you want to read NTFC file system you can use webman or irisman. To solve this issue check the file system of your external storage by connecting it to your pc then check its properties.
Under file system you should see FAT32 otherwise format your external storage with FAT32 and put your game(s) in the appropriate folder. With this done, your game(s) should now show in multiMAN
MultiMAN can not see ISOs
If your multiMAN can not see ISO games then check that the ISO game is in the right directory i.e. (dev_hdd0/PS3ISO) make sure PS3ISO is all in uppercase.
You can then go ahead and check if multiMAN is showing multiMAN or mmCM. If it is showing multiMAN then you need to enable cobra mode to change MultiMAn to mmCM.
Difference between multiMAN and mmCM
MultiMAN runs in two modes, normal mode and cobra mode. When multiMAN is running in normal mode it shows the name 'multiMAN' and does not play ISO games, it can only play game folders.
When multiMAN is running in cobra mode it show mmCM abbreviating to multiMAN cobra mode. this mode can play both game folders and ISO games. So if multiMAN can't see your ISO games make sure it is in cobra mode.
PS3 Freezing after Disabling Cobra Mode
Your PS3 can can start freezing after disabling cobra mode. This is a common issue when you disable cobra mode on PS3. To fix this issue you will need to Rebuild database on the PS3. To rebuild database on PS3 console follow the steps below;
- Put your PS3 to standby mode (this shows the red light on the PS3).
- With the system in standby mode. Press and hold the power button down you will hear one beep, continue holding the power button until the system turns off. Release the power button.
- Now turn it on again by Pressing holding the power button and you will hear one Beep and another one Beep, then two quick Beeps at this point release the power button.
- You should be prompted to connect your wireless controller using a USB cable.
- You should now be in safe mode.
- Now you can select option 4 [Rebuild Database]
Note: PS3 controllers don't work wirelessly in safe mode
How do I convert Games to ISO
You can simply convert folder games to ISO if you have mmCM by opening it and going to the game you want to convert in the game column of mmCM XMB menu. You can now press triangle on the game you want to convert to ISO to bring up options then select Create ISO. You game will now start converting to ISO format.
